THE PROJECT
Mosaico Studio was in charge of the Artistic Direction of the opening ceremony of the sixth edition of the CONI Kinder+Sport Trophy, a proper national Olympics for under-14 athletes. The Trophy took place from 26 to 29 September 2019 in the cities of Crotone, Cutro and Isola di Capo Rizzuto and involved as many as 23 sports delegations from all over Italy, Switzerland and Canada.
THE CEREMONY
The opening ceremony took place on 26 September at the Ezio Scida Stadium in Crotone and was attended by more than 10,000 athletes and spectators. Taking turns on stage were Savino Zaba, as host, Annalisa Minetti and rapper Shade, who concluded the event with a live concert. Officially opening the sixth edition of the CONI Kinder+Sport Trophy was CONI President Giovanni Malagò. Over 300 people worked during the event, and in the days leading up to it, to ensure the success of the great ceremony.
MILONE: THE EVENT MASCOT
The city of Crotone traces its origins back to the Greek founding fathers and retains a deep connection with Olympic sports tradition and culture, priding itself on the fame of the multi-Olympian Milone. We were inspired by him to tell the story of a modern, sporting, youthful event, all aimed at the future but which at the same time finds in the ancient figure of Milo an inspirational character. A visceral link with an event that has its origins in noble athletic and religious celebrations: the Greek Olympic Games.
